In June 2018, 22 beautiful dancers embarked on Dare 2 Dance’s fourth American Dance Tour.
D2D on tour - Anaheim | Las Vegas | Los Angeles
Our first stop was Anaheim to conquer Disneyland, we then flew to Las Vegas where we stayed at the incredible Ceaser’s Palace before finally road-tripping back to Los Angeles.
For most of our girls, this was their first time at ‘The Happiest Place on Earth’: Disneyland! We went on ride after ride, had pictures with our Disney heroes, ate our weight in churros and Mickey shaped ice-creams and watched the fireworks over the magic castle. Taking class at Disneyland is always a highlight and this time was no exception! We were all inspired and moved by the amazing staff at Disney and many girls left with big dreams and full hearts, excited for what they can accomplish and achieve in their future – this is what the tour is all about! Our performance at Disneyland was a big hit, drawing crowds of onlookers and spectators excited to hear we were all the way from Australia! The girls danced beautifully and were true professionals on stage. We are still bursting with pride!
We left Disneyland on a high and travelled to Las Vegas! Ceaser’s Palace was our home for the next week, and the girls were so excited to arrive that they even flash-mobbed outside the entrance for other guests and staff… in the 40-degree desert weather!! We saw the mind-blowing Cirque Du Soleil show ‘O’ at the Bellagio and the hilarious variety show, ‘V’, left us all in stitches. We shopped ‘til we dropped at the outlets, braved the insane roller-coasters at the top of the Stratosphere, swam and relaxed by the pool at Ceaser’s Palace and some girls even did a day trip out to the Grand Canyon. No one wanted to leave Vegas, but knew LA was waiting for us!
In LA, our girls danced with the pros at Millennium Dance Complex, Edge Dance Centre, and Playground learning from industry professionals and dancing in studios where big name celebrities have danced before them: Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Katy Perry and some of the dancers even met Kenny Wormald, the star from Footloose (2011). We got our adrenaline pumping at Six Flags and lived out our movie star dreams at the behind the scenes Warner Brother’s Tour. A definite highlight of the tour was the LA Dodgers Baseball match where one of our very own girls was hit with the baseball … the smile and excitement on her face dulled the pain of the bruised knee. We finished the tour by hiring bikes and riding through Venice Beach on the 4th of July – what a way to finish the tour!
We love watching all our girls grow and improve not only while we travel, but also when we return to the studio. Lifelong friendships have been forged and a renewed love and passion has been ignited for dance. None of this would be possible without our amazing Ms Leigh who gives all the girls incredible opportunities to not only grow as dancers, but into well-rounded, humble, gracious individuals too. We cannot wait for our next tour in 2020!!
